I got my maternity photos back from my photographer and am sooo happy with them! Since this is my second (and most likely last) pregnancy, I wanted to do a professional maternity photoshoot with a classic and timeless vibe. All my photos were shot by Daria Roomie, a photographer based in San Francisco and she was great. She made me feel comfortable, beautiful and had great posing suggestions. Since the bump is the focal point, I kept my outfit and accessories simple and wore stuff that felt like me, so that I’d feel comfortable and confident in it.
Sharing a few of my favorite maternity photos, taken at 30-weeks pregnant. Along with links to what I’m wearing.
Outfit 1: Frame Denim classic silk button-down shirt and blue jeans
I specifically chose a silk button-down because of the way it naturally drapes and falls down. I own other button-down’s made of cotton, which has more of a structured feel (and would have been fine), but went with silk since I wanted a more elegant vibe and loved the way it wrapped around my belly. I went with classic blue jeans, that hit me above the ankle (so it wouldn’t make me look short) and without any holes or distressing to keep it timeless. Also if you wear anything silk, don’t forget to steam it before wearing it.
Outfit 2: Bumpsuit “the Rosie” black dress
You can never go wrong with a black dress, and when pregnant this is the time to wear a tight dress to show off your curves. Bumpsuit is one of my favorite brands for tight-fitting pregnancy dresses because the fabric is double-lined so thick and smoothing. Their styles tend to be extremely flattering and perfectly hug and show off the bump.
Outfit 3: White silk feathered robe
For the last outfit, I wanted something with a boudoir element so got a silk robe from Etsy. I used my hands to prevent the robe from opening up and to show off the belly since the robe was quite large. Although not shown, I wore a white lace bra underneath to match the robe and seamless nude underwear so it wouldn’t show through.
