I don’t have many photos of our old bedroom, except for these ones on @trendenvy Instagram here and here but I was beyond excited to re-style our master bedroom. Our old bedroom theme was mid-century modern and incorporated a lot of grey. I personally think grey is getting outdated, so was looking forward to re-designing our bedroom space to a minimal neutral theme with lots of white and natural hues to create a calm, peaceful vibe. What do you think?
Where I got all my bedroom furniture & decor:
Bedframe: I was debating between multiple bed frames but ultimately got the Room & Board Wyatt Storage Bed for a few reasons. It’s fully customizable (color: we got sumner fabric, and headboard height: 48h), plus there’s a huge storage drawer that pulls out from the foot of the bed. The storage is what sold it for us; we use it to store our extra linens and bedsheets. The other bed frame I considered was the Pottery Barn Raleigh Square Upholstered Tall Bed which is also customizable and cheaper but it didn’t have the storage drawer.
Mattress: We did a lot of research on mattresses and are SO happy with the Saatva classic luxury firm mattress. We’re both side sleepers and don’t like foam mattresses. The Saatva mattress has an innerspring with a plush euro pillow top, providing the perfect level of comfort and support making it feel like a luxe hotel bed.
Bedsheets: I’ve tried bedsheets from several brands like Parachute and still love and prefer Casper sheets. We specifically like the sateen sheet set since it’s smooth and made of 100% cotton. Since San Francisco is quite cold, we went with cotton since cotton is soft and absorbs and retains your body temperature.
Down Duvet Insert: We got the mid-weight down duvet also from Casper. I don’t see anything wrong with it, but do wish it was slightly fluffier. When I was researching, this Peacock Alley white goose down duvet got amazing reviews amongst some reputable articles but I couldn’t justify the price since it’s double the price of the Casper duvet. Maybe I’ll get it if it goes on sale to see if it lives up to the hype.
Pillows: Our decorative pillows are from The Citizenry, one of my favorite places to shop for home decor items. My lumbar pillow is in the 12×30″. The pillows we actually sleep on are by Tempurpedic or Casper.
Nightstand: I was on the hunt for the perfect nightstand since we wanted something functional and not too wide. The Pottery Barn Cayman 16″ Charging Nightstand was the perfect find. It has multiple outlets installed making it functional plus a drawer to hide away random items. It’s also beautiful and very high-quality, made of solid mango wood.
Lamps: Our lamps are the only thing we kept from our old bedroom. It’s the Acrylic Column USB Table Lamp from West Elm. We kept them since they still matched and thought the gold would break up all the neutral white/wood tones. If I could buy new lamps though, I would have gotten the Surya Croyle Table Lamp from Bed Bath & Beyond since it’d match beautifully and is very reasonably priced!
Rug: I feel like rugs are risky to buy online, but am so happy with our Souk Wool Rug from West Elm. It’s extremely plush and thick giving that perfect comfortable, cozy vibe. Since our bed is a king size, we got the rug in a 8’x10′.
Faux olive tree: To my surprise, this olive tree is one of my most clicked on products haha. Considering it’s fake, it looks extremely real and I like how you can bend the branches to shape it. Ours is the 5′ tall Olive Silk Tree from Nearly Natural which has some of the best faux looking plants/trees. For the “pot”, I put it in this Amazon seagrass belly basket.
Curtains: Our white curtains are the Hemp White Curtains from CB2. They’re great for diffusing light with a soft glow. I got curtains made of hemp since its also naturally resistant to mold and ultraviolet light.
